Snuggle Season

Erin Ruiz- Original Artwork

Mixed Media Illustrator and Tattoo Artist

A drawer since birth, painter by trade, Erin now works in a variety of media of anything from oil paint, to ballpoint pen, to skin and ink. Tattooing for near 11 years and expertly balancing painting for gallery shows, freelance illustration jobs, and pleasure, there's no artistic challenge she doesn't enjoy getting her hands on. In the golden age of her youth, she chose to leave the comfort of hermitage to attend Savannah College of Art and Design, where she graduated with an Undergraduate Award and a BFA in Illustration. After living in Georgia for three years, she moved back home to Boise, Idaho to pursue a career in the illustrative arts. Her illustrative clients have included the Georgia Music Hall of Fame, Deep Magazine, the Downtown Boise Association and more, alongside local galleries, mixed-use spaces, newsweeklies, and smatterings of album covers and shirt designs. It wasn't long into that freelance illustration career that Erin, amid promises of fortune and glory, was shanghaied into servitude as a "tattoo artist" and she hasn't looked back.

Her current work aims to make the macabre more palatable to the masses.
