Obsessive, repetitive detail; horrible faces drawn, then hidden behind blackness; ink and unexpected shadows. To expand on the haunted theme, I imagined a book of fairy tales one might stumble across as a kid. The colorful illustrations cheerful, but upsetting. Little Lynette who loses her hands for sneaking a bite of dessert, a jester whose smiling dance continues after he has been transformed into a horrible pig, a magical helper come to babysit, but why does he look like that?
