Unlike a static artwork, the sculpture is only completed through public participation. Visitors are invited to punch the sculpture during the exhibition opening, an act that may—or may not—cause it to crack open and reveal its concealed interior. The piece confronts the unstable balance between control and surrender: the impossibility of fully protecting what we carry inside ourselves, and the strange liberation that can emerge when we release ownership over outcomes.\u003cbr\u003eThe interactive piñata sculptures within my practice extend beyond spectacle or destruction. They investigate emotional containment, societal expectation, and the performative dimensions of femininity itself. What happens when softness is ruptured? When rage is madevisible? When vulnerability becomes communal? This exhibition embraces those questionswithout resolving them, offering instead a space where danger, humor, grief, tenderness, and empowerment coexist.\u003cbr\u003eThese works speak to a cultural moment in which women are increasingly reclaiming agency, voice, and bodily autonomy while still existing within systems that demand constant vigilance.\u003cbr\u003eThe monsters in these pieces are not simply external threats—they are survival mechanisms, inherited fears, hidden desires, and emerging strengths.
