"I am an early career artist working in graphite and oils to explore themes of death, the nature of womanhood, and the personal relationship to the self. My work often incorporates folklore, myth, fairy tales, and religious iconography, exploring and reinterpreting old wive’s tales through a contemporary and often feminist lens. I am drawn to stories that interrogate and reveal something about the role of women in our society and use these stories as the basis for my artworks. My work is playful, mystical, and often deeply personal. Working in graphite allows me to pull out fine details and modulations in tone on even the smallest drawings, allowing me to create portals into strange, sometimes unsettling worlds."
