Alissa Massey is a Los Angeles based visual artist. Her work includes large-scale paintings, installations and artists' books that are explorations of materiality and surface that shift one's perception of reality through mostly monochromatic surfaces. Serious material play is at the root of her practice along with a deep investigation of color as material. Her work explores the complexities of vision, perception, and the real while providing all the clues on the surface.
