Lucille Waits on Repair

Original Artwork by Tula Oliver

Measures 11" x 17"

The original concept behind this series was to explore moments of intentional solitude. I found Lucille, a rare preteen Cinderella doll, at St Vincent De Paul of Los Angeles in Lincoln Heights.

We spent four months together wherein Lucille became my mirror. This series is meant to document dates kept and time spent with her as a form of self love/self care. The end result is a combination of still film and watercolor color pencil illustration. I'm most interested in the merging of real concrete objects and projected fantasies.

Please note that due to everyone’s monitor displaying differently, the colors you see may vary.
